Gentle towards everyone

Here is some sage advice I received this morning from a pastoral mentor in the faith:

“Remind the churches you oversee to to obedient and subject to the rulers and authorities, and to be prepared to do whatever is good, to slander nobody (even—especially—those they disagree with), to be peaceable, considerate and gentle towards everyone”.

Ok, the mentor was the Apostle Paul, and he was writing to Titus, not to me. (Titus 3:1-2) But as the Lord opened my heart to this passage, I thought it was pretty relevant today.

Doing Good; not slandering; peaceable, considerate, and gentle—this sounds like a recipe for salt-and-light kind of Christians.
